Providing aid after attacks

The Karen people live in the shadow of the Burma Army’s brutality. The Burma Army regularly launches attacks on unarmed civilians all across Burma. No village is safe from a surprise strike.

Civilians often suffer wounds from mortars or gunfire (pictured below).

Stronghold’s ambulance crews treated and transported this wounded civilian in Burma who was shot in the back while running away from a surprise Burma Army attack.

Stronghold has worked with the Karen people to bolster their capabilities against the Burma Army’s oppression.

Our team has helped establish resources such as an ambulance service to care for the injured, radios to communicate about the Burma Army’s movements, and a network of prompt aid among the Karen villages.

Following our “Charity With Dignity” model, Stronghold empowers locals to provide aid to their own displaced people. This aid includes practical resources such as food, medicine, and blankets.

Last week, a Stronghold-led team of locals distributed these resources to aid the displaced civilians who were running from the Burma Army (pictured).

The care and aid we can give the Karen people who flee violence is all possible because of our generous supporters.

Right now, you are helping us save lives and support innocent civilians in the face of violent tyranny.

Thank you.
