Stronghold Boat ambulance carries wounded soldier

Stronghold’s boat ambulance has been working nonstop since it was built a few months ago. While heavy rain makes it difficult for the other ambulance trucks to operate, the boat can operate continuously.

In these photos, taken a month ago, medics carried a wounded soldier across a large man-made lake to the clinic on the other side.

The Burma Army shot the soldier while he was defending civilians under attack.

The soldier needed intensive care, including oxygen and IVs. Stronghold’s team prepared medical equipment and care in advance so everything the soldier needed was available.

The trip across the lake takes approximately two hours. The soldier received supplemental oxygen and advanced life support the entire time.

When the wounded soldier arrived across the lake, the Stronghold ambulances took the patient through the jungle mountains to the clinic.

Without the boat ambulance, he most likely would have died.

Stronghold’s boat ambulance provides an invaluable service all year round.

Thank you to everyone who supports the ambulance program and makes these life-saving trips possible.

Thank you.
